Our beloved Bingley has passed away. He was 2 years 1 month old and was the most beautiful, wonderfully tempered hamster you could ever meet.

He came to us in September 2007 with his brother Kipton and nobody could have wanted a more beautiful pair of brothers than these two. Bingley was always the more laid-back of the pair, though he did rather resent having his nails trimmed! He was such an easy hamster to please, and if hamsters could smile then Bingley would have smiled alot. Whenever you gave him a new toy or treat he seemed absolutely over the moon with it and appreciated everything. His cage was stuffed with hundreds of houses, tubes and other toys which we couldn't bare to take off him because he loved them all so much. Even the night before he passed on he still came toddling out for a yogurt drop. When we found him we knew he had just slept away. He did us really proud in shows, winning 2 Best in Shows and numerous Best in Show Juniors.

Thank you Bingley for allowing us to share your life and giving us so much pleasure. We will miss you so much. xxx

The colour of Thunder clouds before a storm
Face of a teddy bear, well loved and worn
Always so happy when given a treat
Liquid black eyes and tiny neat feet

Bingley you came to us, so along ago
You and your brother who was white as the snow,
Both of you perfect, so full of life
You only objected when we got you a wife

Always a happy ham, now you are gone
We’ll miss you so much now your playdays are done
Play well at the bridge and say hi to your friends
We’re so sad that our time together has come to an end.

We know that you had a good life with us here
We will miss you so much little Bingley our dear
We’re so glad that we shared your sweet life with you
Sleep tight little man our hamster dream come true
