Sleep Well Sooty

Today I was informed that Sooty, the beautiful Hybrid that was owned by my sister and who I frequently hamster-sat for, was found in her forever sleep.

She'd been gradually ageing over the last couple of months and eventually it must have been her time.

Sooty's immense beauty was what caught my sister's eye at the pet shop where she was chosen and despite a very nervous start, my sister was besotted with her. Eventually my sister managed to get her tame enough to be held for brief periods of time outside of her cage but she would always remain protective of her space. My sister accepted that and worked with Sooty's little ways and they were very happy. Sooty loved her food and her wheel and we know that she will be enjoying both in her eternal life at the bridge.

Oh this is sad to read, I always enjoyed hearing about the beautiful Sooty. My condolences to you and your sister. I'm so glad she made it through Christmas. She'll be missed here.

My sister is quite upset as she loved Sooty a great deal but she had a good, long life without too many of the issues that can affect Hybrids.

Sooty has been buried in our memorial garden where the rest of the Metallica Hamsters are buried and fondly remembered.
