In a class, I'm taking we are doing a project that should make an impact on many people. I decided that I was going to design a DIY hamster cage. I'm just curious as to what requirements certain plastics need to be hamster safe.

You will need plexiglass & tools, should have to your parents guide you along, not to discourage you

Acrylic can be worked on with a lot of wood tools,if you have the proper blades and such!I would recommend checking out some DIY acrylic aquarium videos first though,as this is a very good place to start and learn how to put things together.Acrylic is very different to glass, you can't use aquarium sealant as it won't hold the acrylic together properly, however you need a special liquid welding product which actually evaporates and leaves the acrylic bonded on a molecular level.
