Planning again for future DIY's ;) One of which will involve the need to use the below wood materials:

Basswood Sheet 0.22 X 15.24 Cm | Hobbycraft (http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/basswood-sheet-022-x-1524-cm/569066-1000)
Hardwood Dowel 3/8 X 36 Inches | Hobbycraft (http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/hardwood-dowel-38-x-36-inches/569129-1000)

Are these safe? I'm not sure how to go about supplying wood pieces and ensuring they will be ok if chewed?

I'm pretty sure the dowels are fine - I've seen a lot of people use them. However, I have no idea what the other thing is! According to Google it comes from a Tilia tree, but that's about as much it will tell me!

I use their lollipop sticks and dolly pegs without any problems

Tilia is the genus of several types of tree in the uk known as lime trees (but not lime as in the fruit) but also known as linden or basswood :)
