Ferplast Criceti 15 Hamster Cage

Cage size: 78x48x39cm (lxwxh)
Suitable for all species of hamster, but may be a tight fit for Syrians.

PROS
• Fairly spacious
• Easy to clean
• Good quality bars
• Thick, good quality base (great for chewers!)
• Great price (I saw it on Amazon for £30 I think :))
• Can be extended with tubes - one of the only extendable cages that it adequate as a stand-alone cage
• Big top door allows for easy access
• Comes with shelf and accessories - I can't test these out unfortunately as mine was second-hand and came without accessories
• Flat-packs for easy storage
• Tall enough to fit a 12" wheel (just don't make the substrate deep in that area!)
• Relatively deep base - can fit an appropriate layer of substrate

CONS
• Clips that hold the roof down snap quite easily - I don't know if it's just mine but one of mine snapped within two weeks but goodness knows how long it has been used before that as it was second hand
• Raised grid-like texture on base that rips and bobbles cleaning cloths!
• 1cm* bar spacing - not good for smaller dwarves. I'd say you could house an adult Winter White or Campbell's but no smaller. It's good for water bottles though as they can't bend the wire!
• Wheel supplied is too small for most species of hamster - you have to purchase your own.
• Thinner plastic than base on top structure with pre-cut holes. Willow has got her head in one and started to chew away at it! It can't have been too comfortable so she stopped quite quickly!

Overall I'd give this an 8/10 rating. Nothing's perfect and surely if you get the cage for £30 you can spend a little extra money on accessories?! Probably suited to dwarves and most Syrians however the more boisterous Syrians who think they are entitled to acres of ground space (Willow, I'm looking at you!) may not be suited to this cage.

I got this cage for my syrian Yummy, as it was the only one in the shop big enough for a super quick replacement. She had just escaped her two bin cages and gone missing for a night, we needed a cage as fast as possible so glad I found this one.

Only problem is she's a bar chewer x.x

Yes I was in the same situation as you, the little troublemaker decided it would be great fun to chew through the corners of her previous cage. I bought this as a temporary measure and she's been in it for about two months now. Her Maxi Duna is arriving tomorrow!

I nearly bought that cage. I like the design and the big top opening roof. But as you say, floorspace wise it's a bit tight for a syrian. Great for a hospital cage or for a holiday cage though maybe (ie to take on holiday and set up). Does it come flat pack or is the cage top in one piece? If it was just a bit bigger it would be great.

Yes I know, we only used ours for about two months, she is in her Maxi Duna now and loving it :D
As far as I know it does come flat packed, mine was already assembled though when I got it as it was second hand. I'm not envious of the person who had to attach the roof though, lots of reviews say it's next to impossible!
