I know paint is talked about lots here.....but I'm confused!
I've just bought some plastikote paints....not realising some are water based and some are not.
They all say safe to use on children's toys and furniture..
So does this mean if it's not waterbased I can't use it on hamster stuff? ?? Xx

Basically yes, only use the ones that say water based.

Are the others not safe then? I've just edged the inside of my cage with it!!

Is it the spray paint?

No....its the paint on stuff. Some of them say water based...others don't. But both say suitable for children's toys. X

All the water based ones have the white plastic lids like the one on the right of your photo, the oil based ones all have metal lids like the one on the left, only use the water based, even though they say both are safe for children there was a thread about the oil based ones some time ago & the general consensus was that the oil based ones aren't safe & I think, if I remember rightly the company said they couldn't be sure they were safe for animals.
The oil based ones really smell awful too!

Oh how annoying. I use the cuprinol garden shades paints for my cages. They are water based and animal safe. Doesn't help with your oily green paint though.

How very frustrating.

That's the kind of thing that usually happens to me! Sorry it's caused extra hassle. Is it fixable? If not I can recommend the 100cm Barney cage :-)
