It was only for about 3 weeks that i had you. I was unsure with every little step i took with yo because I was so new and wanted the best for you

As time passed, you made me feel more and more sure of you. you helped me understand you and you trusted me, even though i was probably this big greasy annoying giant, you climbed onto my hand, ready for adventure

the constant tickling of your tiny paws on me when you climbed and explored me curiously and fearlessly, eager to solve the mystery of me as i was to solve the mystery of you and your small adventurous ways

Sorry for your loss, I was so sad to read this. Poor little guy, his life was far too short :(

I'm so sorry - so young. Maybe she had some genetic problem. I hope you will have a new little hammy friend soon. It won't replace Butternubs but will bring some joy back in your life. Sleep well little baby Butternubs.

I am so sorry this happened to you both, you obviously loved him very much and he you. The thing to hang onto is that you cared very deeply for them and that a life with you was a good life, so sad it was so short but much better than a short life with someone who wasn't so caring.

So sad to read this about Butternubs.
You did everything you could for her and I'm glad she had you by her side right to the end.
RIP Butternubs - gone too soon xx

Oh Stitchedego I am so very sorry you lost the fight with Butternubs.
I was there most of the night trying my best to help you help her and I know you did absolutely every thing you could to help her. You followed everyones advice to the letter and when you said she perked up a bit with the sugar water I had a small glimmer of hope for you to get a miracle.

The Lord knows what is best and with as much pain as she sounded perhaps for her good it was a kinder thing for her to pass on to a life which the pain felt on earth is gone.

Please try not to blame yourself and I am sure if Butternubs could speak her thoughts she would have asked you to be sad only a short while and then find another hamster in need to let enjoy the great life she had with you even though it was a small amount of time. Length of time is not as important as quality of time with you and Butternubs had a great quality of life with you.

RIP now Butternubs you ran a great race and the victory is yours. Run free and renewed enjoying the wheel in the sky which never squeaks and is always open to use. Greet the many others up there with you as you are in great company with Erins boy Sammy and my Boy Kiley who lived with me about the same length of time. As well as many more on HC who passed just a day or two before you.
