Mr. Green passed away today.
He was a nice, friendly little campbell dwarf hamster.
He moved from his brother when Mr. Blue started biting him.
After that he seemed very sad and hardly got out.
A few weeks before his death he finally started using his wheel again.
But then he had gotten ill with a respiratory problem that left him
struggling to breathe.
We gave him the chance of recovery, even when he refused to eat anymore
or even open his eyes.
He spent a week at the vet to try and prevent dehydration by being given
water every day under his skin.
Yesterday (thursday) the vet saw him eat a little and his eyes were more open
than they had been for a long time.
But today he had gotten worse and we decided there was nothing more to do for him.
We didn't watch him die, but kissed him goodbye before the vet took him away.
We burried him in a casket with a cotton mattrass wrapped in toiletpaper
and he even had a cotton pillow and a duvet.
We gave him 5 sunflower seeds to bring with him to his next life.
We wrote a message on his casket, hoping he enjoyed his time here with us
and told him we loved him very much and that we were going to see him there.
We left a few flowers on his little grave in the area next to our apartment building.
We hope he'll like it there with flowers covering the grass everywhere now and
many crows in the tall trees.
Mr. Green now rests in peace and will no longer suffer.

Byebye, little one, we miss you a lot already ?

I am so sorry to hear of your loss :(
Though short his life was filled with caring and he knew he was loved.
Play well at the bridge Mr Green

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Green's passing. :( It is obvious you cared for him a lot and did everything you could. He's running free over the bridge now without a care in the world. RIP Mr. Green
