I'm so sad to be writing this.

I just had the call from my mom to say that George passed away in his sleep last night. My little boy has gone to the rainbow bridge <3

I'm so grateful that he passed peacefully in his sleep, but I'm so sad I didn't get to see him in his final days :( I go home tomorrow for the Easter holidays so I will lay him to rest when I get home.

Oh Amy I am so very sorry for your loss, and sorry to hear you didn't get to say goodbye to George before he left on his way to the bridge, but he did know that you love him and he will be listening when you lay him to rest and say your fond farewell tomorrow.

Oh Amy! How sad. George wais one of our HC oldies and he will be so missed. It's just awful that they age so quickly. That last photo of George on the bendy bridge has always been a favorite of mine. I love how his feet curl around the logs. Such a beautiful boy. It's a sad homecoming for you. {hugs} Bye-Bye George. I will miss you. Play well at the Bridge old ham. :-(

I just got home from uni, so I will lay him to rest later today, with a nice plant in the garden.

The biggest blessing of a older pet gone to the bridge is they are now young again and at peace. The fact he fell asleep and woke in a much brighter place is a true blessing and also showed he was fully content with all who loved him.
