She was too good for this world, to leave it so young.
Two weeks ago, Poppet was not very well. I was syringing her water and feeding her baby food because she had was quite weak, and wobbly. She got better so I thought that everything was okay. She was more active and had perked up, though I was still keeping a close eye on her and was not going to try and re-home her until I thought anything had definitely passed.
Unfortunately, even though she had was back to her normal self and much like her sisters, I found her in her forever sleep yesterday. By the looks of things, she had either had a stroke or fits, and had not made it. I wish I could have been by her side in that time, but she must have gone pretty quickly as she had been awake and active in the morning.
I wish that she could have experienced more that this world had to offer. She had so much love left to give a new owner, but it just wasn't meant to be.
I hope that she at least enjoyed her time here with me. No matter how much she tried to chew her bottle, or knock over her wheel, and no matter how many times she had a nibble of me...I still loved her, as I will continue to with her sisters, as they are all so alike.
I didn't expect to lose another hamster so quick to Dottie, especially not one so young. Hopefully 'auntie' Dottie will be looking after her now.
