Here are photos of the playground I built for my long haired Golden syrian , Toby :D I've got video footage, but I've gotta edit that. I've been lazy today.

Wow, those are some fantastic ideas! I love the hideout and climbing frame - they look so fun! If I was a hamster I would be in those in a second ;)

Candra, this is fantastic!
Toby is one lucky hamster!
I bet he loves it!
If I tried making any of that, it would be a disaster, you would need to be very patient to do that.

Thank you both :D I've always been crafty... my mom would catch me stealing egg cartons and stuff when i was pretty little, around 4 and 5 , to go and build things, she'd have to throw my "art" away when I was out because it'd accumulate on a bookshelf I had it "displayed" on. lol
And of course I don't mind if you use the idea, that's what I posted it for :D I still need to work on the video, but I went shopping today and bought Toby more stuff. ha ha.

I'm very impressed with all your creations! I am not good at making things - I spent a whole week-end making a rocket out of shoes boxes, tin foil plastic cups and toilet rolls - following a 'plan' on the internet - with our little boy when he was 3 and I was tearing my hair out! It did look quite good when it was finished but I found it so stressful! Not that good with flatpack furniture either!

aww ha ha. But all that matters is you give it your best shot. That's what your little boy really cares about. :D And it took me a couple of weeks to finish this stuff. ha ha. I built a little at a time and thought it out to make sure it'd be good and sturdy... and allowed a couple of hours for glue to dry in front of my fan before adding more sticks on.... when you go slow like that you can think about what you're gonna do next, it makes it easier :)

Those are wonderful! Boy, howdy...HC folk are sooooo crafty! I love these and will make some of them myself. Toby's a lucky little hammy. :-D Great work! :-D

PS. I just downloaded the photos into a file called Toby's Playpen. So I have the info when I am ready to make these. Not only are the items themselves really wonderful, your photos are excellent, especially with the info right on the photos. Brilliant!

Thank you! Glad you like them. He's spoiled rotten... ha ha. I used Jumbo popsicle sticks I got at walmart and Elmer's Glue-All ... you could use colored sticks too, it'd be really cute!! Toby got more ledges and a metal kabob to play with yesterday. like I said, spoiled rotten. <3

awesome! I started building Toby a ramp to lead up to his wheel, it takes up so much space I decided to mount it on the cage wires... I think he likes it better up there. He's got a bend a bridge leading up to it right now. there's a lot more room in the cage , I like it
