So if you have been following my posts you would know I just acquired a "Sunfire" Djungarian/hybrid dwarf. When I got him, he had tons of toys and accessories with acrylic craft paint as their paint of choice. I left the toys in because I want his move to be as stress free as possible. So, back to the point of this post. Is acrylic craft paint safe for hamsters? Thanks :)

I think acrylic paints can vary so unless you know exactly which paint it is so you can check if it's non toxic I'd be a bit wary tbh.

I wouldn't use them, to be on the safe side I would stay away from unless you can you know in depth that its safe to use around your hammy

I don't know of any other brands other than Plastikote but I'm sure there are some just check labels & or manufactures websites & be sure they say non toxic, anything that's safe for babies should be safe enough for hams.

Ok I used acrylic paint. It was a water based, non-toxic paint :) and sealed the paint with "Mod Podge." My hamster isn't a chewer.

ooh, I would only trust this paint... it's what a lot of people who run small businesses making pet safe wood chews and such use... Delta Soy Paint... natural paints.
