Hi guys,

Can I use air drying clay to make hamster toys and furniture? I mean, is it safe?

There are different types of air drying clay so I'd check to see what's in it or see if you can find any safety data in case you make something your ham decides to chew on.
It might be hard to keep clean or dry so if you do find something safe to use I'd coat it with something like plastikote to make it waterproof & easy to clean.

I have made a sort of food and water platform for Bilbo but there are these gaps that I want to close. Can only think of clay... Any ideas?

You could use aquarium sealant to close the gaps. I would not use air-dry clay.
