I went to check on you yesterday afternoon and immediately I knew there was something wrong. Your eyes were shut, your body laid outside the nest. You were lifeless, but hanging on. Watching you struggle to stand up and clean yourself killed me. I never expected you to go. I wasn't prepared. You really didn't want to go without a fight. You tried and tried until you had no more strength.
I remember the man in the pet shop picking you out as the calmest. You were a beautiful tiny baby. You didn't have a great start to life with a small cage, but the last few months of your life it became obvious you were happy.
You've left me heartbroken. Sleep well my beautiful girl.
