I refuse to have sugar (or salt) in my house. I made porridge last week. I add honey. I gave a level teaspoon to Toby. Then I remembered the honey. But it is organic. And I did not add an awful lot. He really relished the porridge.

Am I a bad parent?

I think it would be OK as an occasional treat to have a small drop of honey, but I would try and avoid it in future, as it can cause things like cavities. You can give him up to a dessert spoon full of porridge, and leave it overnight in his cage, then remove it in the morning. :)

Thanks pophammy! He has nothing else sweet besides the odd yoghurt drop. I used very little honey. He does relish his porridge. I never leave fresh food for more than twelve hours or so and he normally finishes it anyway. :)
