It's been a typical bank holiday Monday, non stop pouring rain!
So I spent the day making this :)
Well I need things to fill up that Alexander cage when it finally arrives :)

That is really cute! How did you make the arch? Cut a circle in half?

Thank you :)

That is really cute! How did you make the arch? Cut a circle in half?

I drew around an oval shape the size I wanted the arch to be onto the wood, then drew a larger oval shape around it freehand. I cut out the largest oval shape using a jig saw, cut that in half and then cut out the inside half oval pieces :)

I call it spectacular! That is really great. I have added it to my HC woodworking file. It looks better than store bought ones I own. Sturdier too. :-D

Asked my boyfriend if we still had a jigsaw & could I use it. I got met with slighty concerned eyebrows & an offer that he could cut the wood for me. Somehow I don't think he trusts me not to chop my hand off... I might have to do it when he's not there. All your stuff looks lovely Willow, I've been really impressed with your makes.

LOL, I was just wondering if we had a jigsaw. Then I remembered that I'm accident prone. And that I like having ten fingers. I'm constantly amazed at some of the woodworking projects in the DIY section.

Thank you all :)
I am pretty accident prone, and have been known to be bit of a scatterbrain too LOL
If I can manage these bits then anyone can :)
Give it a try, you'll be pleased you did :)

Thanks everyone :)
This is an old thread, it's from August last year, so this bridge thingy is now 9 months old. It's in Ebonys cage and for those of you that know Ebony, well your really not going to believe this but it's still intact! There's not a single bite out of it

I also got strange looks from other half when I asked him to buy me a range of sandpapers last week lol!

I'd call it the Princess Bridge. If you can get a pic of Ebony on it, well that would be worth some kind of HC special mention at least I would think!
Lol Serendipity, I'm guessing he'd be surprised at your budding Macgyverism? Me thinks you are being under-estimated :)

That's how you learn. What the guys don't tell you is all the times they messed up.

Isn't that the truth. And some of us don't have DIY Dads (or Mums) to show us things like jigsaws and table saws!

I'm glad this thread got resurrected, that's such a cute little bridge!!

Sometime having a thread revive helps a whole lot of newer members find the info too. I love all my tools. I had a dad who was a Superintendent of a huge building when I was young. He had a shop in the basement with tremendous tools and I loved to be in there. That's how I learned to swing a hammer, Hang a door, change the inside of a toilet tank, know which wrench to use and to ultimately wind up with a set of tools any man would be proud to own. :-D Who knew I would be using those skills later on in life for my hammies? LOL
