Colby and the Dwarfs

I was walking in to the cool room on a rainy July day.
As I poured water into the bottle, Mozza looked at me, she looked so calm. There you were. I don't know which one, but one of those pink wriggly things was....you.
Within the next few days I could tell you apart. You had the good band with the one bad spot. Just like your dad.
So you became Colby Jack Junior.
But I had to leave you. For two whole weeks I left you. You were such a good boy...you had never been held, yet when I picked you up, you were so calm.
Your mother loved you. I think you were the favorite. She followed you around like she was your shadow, as you had done with her when you were younger.
Then, I was feeding you. I poured water in the bowl. But I did not get a pleasant surprise. I found you there, Colby. You were cold. Still. But so small.
Rest in Peace, Colby Jack Junior. You are just like your father, and that is such a compliment.
