Meet BAILEY!!!!!

Well, the great day arrived yesterday and we collected our new hamster (Nelson's wife!) from the breeder! As you can see she is simply gorgeous! :lol: She's a cinnamon satin and since she came from a breeder she has already been handled. She is quite tame and is settling in well. She weighs 64gs and is tiny compared to Nelson and Runty. Nelly now feels massive (158g)!!! :P :P :P So here she is for you all to meet!

So what babies can you expect from her and Nelson in the future - does she have cream recessive?

Yes Emma, she is carrying cream so we expect about 50-50 cream and golden babies and as she's satin we should get some satin babies. Also, it is possible that both Nelson and Bailey are carrying longhair and banded so we could see some of them too. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Bailey is settling in well and is eating all her nutritious little ham food. Nelly is very interested in sniffing all over the place if she has been anywhere he can smell her. She is very active and inquizative and very speedy already making her character known as a right little madam!!

How is her undercoat developing? I love the coat on Cinnamon hamsters when you blow gently and see the lovely slate show through.

It seems to be working its way from the head down and she currently is sporting a slate grey bonnet!!!! The satin dilutes the cinnamon slightly but I think she will brighten further as she matures. She has nice thick belly fur too and is a proper little madam having wee'd on two goonies (do you know what that means Babyboos.. I bet you do!) in 24hrs. Those babies just lift there tails wherever they fancy. She needs a nappy! Oh yes and she is 84g now.

Yeah my friends "Down South" gave me strange looks when I asked to clap their dog many years ago - they must have been thinking why does she want to give him a round of applause :wink:
