I have written this poem in memory of Paddy.

Paddy was my special lovable boy

So sweet and soft like a cuddly toy

He liked to play and sit on my lap

eat a treat or two, or have a nap.

I'd call his name and he'd come to me

I loved him so,he made me happy

He seemed unwell, to the vet we went

She seemed concerned, another vet she sent

'He has a tumour';I began to cry

'But he's my special boy,I dont want him to die'

I didnt believe that it was true

but deep in my heart i think I knew

I came home from work and saw him there

I knew he had passed~it's so unfair

A part of me has gone with him

I almost feel I have lost a limb

His cage is empty, its just so sad

He was a wonderful boy,an amazing lad

I have his babies to see me through

I love you Paddy and wont ever forget you.

Oh I-love Paddy, that's such a lovely poem and a wonderfoul tribute to him. I know what it is like to lose a hamster.   I wrote a poem to my Peppermint when he died  :( :(, it's posted in one of the topics, am not sure which one. Remember Paddy as the happy hamster he was, and he will always be alive in your heart.

Aww what a nice poem :) I know that doing things like this is a good release from all the built up emotions inside. I probably couldn’t write a poem to save my life, but I have been known to paint pictures of my pets after they passed on with a little note about then written at the bottom.

Ems that poem is beautiful, I hope you don't mind but I have added it to your pictorial memorial (http://www.candacebell.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=185) to Paddy. Hugs to you.
