Goodbye Puffle..

Im sad to say that yesterday, my little old man passed away. i always check him if hes not up at night, and i honestly just expected to pick up his house to see his half asleep little face looking up at me asking why i woke him up. I can take comfort that however, he died doing what he loved best, sleeping <3

I got puffle in april last year, after seeing him in a horrible condition in a pet shop for 3 months, and actually crying every time i went in and saw him looking at me, i convinced mum to let him be an early birthday present. He was the best birthday present i ever had.
This is my first picture of him..

Even though he was severely under weight and matted, this didnt stop him from chewing the box completely to shreds on the way to the car, meaning i walked through town just holding him, and had to sit through the car journey like that too.

I didnt have a cage prepared, so he went in a travel cage (not the little tubs dont worry) for a week, until i ordered him his new cage.
He was so shy, but always loved to cuddle, and i can honestly say he never bit me, but he licked me a lot. and he used to try and pouch my hair when it was wet too. x

One thing i will say is that no one that met him could help but love him, from my dad complaining i had another hammy, to one month later, me finding them sat on the couch together. My familly had nicknamed him dumbledore, fluff ball, and my favorite, old man puffle. The vets loved him too, and he loved everyone just the same. I always remember thinking he would make a great class pet, as he was so sweet.

I got puffle when i was very ill, and i can say he, as well as my girls, helped me a lot. But puffle was the one that would fall asleep in my quilt when i couldnt get out of bed.

He is also what made me start to make hamster houses, which gave me so much to do when i was sat at home on my own. He was the best hamster, and if i was sad he would snuggle up to me, even if he ended up being my big fluffy tissue.

He had his health problems, his eye infection, bladder infection, and his fur loss, but he was always full of life, and i was greatful to see his confidence, and health grow over the year i had him.

But he was also the single most photogenic hamster i have ever seen :)

he was very cheeky too, and had a habit of peeing on people, but you could always tell, as he'd turn and look into your eyes, his eyes would glaze over, and then yeah, eww :P He was clever, and would take the food out of his bowl and put it under his water bottle, as he knew it would leak a little. The water would soak his food and he'd eat it the next day, and then get another batch there :P Plus he's hang off the top door and weight for me to open it when he wanted cuddles!

he came on so far since i got him, and for the last few months he would be so energetic, climbing and running all day, and getting up to greet me in the morning for a cuddle before collage. I mean, the first time i put his hammock in, i put it on so it was on the floor, but he used to shake so much. But soon it was as high as it could go and he would literally throw himself onto it..

That was such a lovely memorial. A wonderful tribute to the fantastic, gorgeous Mr Puffle. :(

He was a firm favourite here at HC, and he will be sorely missed. I will so miss his funny pictures, especially his odd sleeping positions.
