Rest In Peace Chip 01/07/08

My gorgeous girl Chip was put to sleep at about 5:45 tonight. After nearly a years long battle with a lump that wouldnt go away. It eventually got far to big for her to handle, she developed diabetes and was struggling to move around, her heart was beating so strongly and she just fell asleep where ever she was comfiest. Im absolutely devastated as 6 months ago we thought it had gone away after shrinking, but it came back, bigger this time. She was such a fighter, fighting up until the end, although the vet said she went quietly, but i know that isnt my cheeky little Chip.

She leaves her brother Dale who is a healthy little guy. We have buried her in the garden with a sunflower plant above her, so she can have all the sunflower seeds in the world, she loves them! She used to run upto the cage door, fill her mouth with sunflower seeds that i would pass through the bars, run to her house and empty her puches then run back to me for some more. She has also been buried with a toilet roll tube, which she is the master at destroying, also a mini frosties cereal box which was her last destruction before she got bad.

It still hasnt sunk in, im still thinking that i will go upstairs and she will be running away on her wheel.

RIP Chip, i love you so so much! You Daddy does too, after all he was the one who brought us together!

Sorry for your loss PinkEmily. Chip is now happily playing at the bridge without her lump. She knew she was loved and can eat all the sunflower seeds she wants now. Rest Little Chip :(

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of little Chip pinkemily. She sure was a character and her bravery in the face of illness was an example to us all. She will be grateful you knew when her time had come and gave her a gentle path to the bridge. Rest in peace Chip and play happily at the bridge with all the friends you will meet there. :(

Oh I am so sorry for your loss PinkEmily. Your tribute to your little girl is lovely, and I know she would thank you for all the love and care she had in her time with you. I love the fact that she can now have sunflowers on tap. Bless you and hugs x
