This post has been a long time coming. In September, we decided to foster a female hybrid from the Starlight Trust. I had adopted her brother, Eric, in January who is a very friendly and active hamster. I knew the remaining 6 girls left at the rescue were also very friendly little characters but they were not getting homes.

When I mentioned getting a new hamster to hubby, he grumbled - something about having too many hamsters. Not that he doesn’t like hamsters, he loves them but we both wondered whether we’d be able to give the hamsters enough quality time if we had three! So fostering sounded like a good idea.

Peaches was one of the most active hamsters at the rescue and probably needed a home more urgently than the others. So we took her in. She is absolutely adorable and makes us laugh all the time. She gets in our trouser legs and climbs all over us. She has this way of gently nibbling us and it tickles. We call her our little lunatic because she is so fast she’s runs like a flash.

A few weeks in and we had fallen in love with her. Hubby fell faster and harder than I could imagine so we decided to keep her:D

Well I'm getting two :) either from my local shelter or pah adoption centre. I have two cages left from my last two passing, and want to give two Christmas miracle x

How adorable is she?!! Reminds me of the Russian I had called Scooby as she has the same colouring. They are so soft! I`ve only had the one Russian dwarf but he was a lovely wee soul. Wouldn`t mind another one at some point. Peachy`s video made me smile. :) They can be so funny just by washing themselves!

It's been so nice to have a girl again. She's so fast and curious. She makes me laugh all the time. Last week she dived in her bedding and came back up with some of her mix but there were bits of substrate stuck to her head like a hat. It was so funny.

I admit, I'm in love with dwarfs now and would definitely get more in the future.

Peachy sounds hilarious with her antics! I`m not sure what next year will hold for me as far as another rescue hamster goes, but no doubt if I`m smitten by a wee Russian pleading for a home, I might well cave in! Especially after seeing Peachy! :)
