I have just had my first hamster, a little Syrian girl. I wanted to make sure I got her a good cage that was large enough from the start and this rat cage is perfect. It's not too tall and has lots of space for toys. She seems to have settled in really well and is very confident. I don't think she has used the water bottle that came with it though so have put a small amount of water in a small bowl. The length is approx. 80cm and height and width approx. 50cm. Came with a food bowl and hanging tunnel also. She likes to sit in the food bowl to eat :)

It's a good size cage the floor space is great for syrians the only thing with rat cages is they are very high and syrians can be a bit clumsy when it comes to climbing ;) so having lots of hammocks and shelves to break there fall is a good idea :)

The ferplast mary isn't too tall though, its only about 30cm high I think :)
I'm glad you like your cage Ronnie, we have a ferplast mary too - at the moment one of our robos is in there :)

Just had a look and it 37.5 cm high so not nearly as high as some of them but never seen one of these cages :) I was debating getting the mamble rat cage as these are pretty cheap at the moment but they are 50 cm high which worries me since syrians seem to have a habit of just walking off the edge of things no matter how high it is ;) they can be a bit daft lol

i have a mary and I love it, probably my fav cage white bars and a grey base just do it for me because they aren't as gaudy as some of the brighter coloured ones

I have the Savic Ruffy which is pretty much identical. It's a bit small for rats although it's marketed as a rat cage but I've had mice and hamsters in it (not at the same time!) and it's great for them.

I've just moved Pickford into one I bought on ebay for £20! She loves it and I love it. Hoping to find another cheap one now. ;-)
