So some of you have probably read my thread about playpens and how to get one cheap :) I am currently just using my bathtub as a playpen; but with 5 other people in the household, its just hard to do. I've convinced my father to bring home some big boxes and cardboard tubing from work for my project, and I'm super excited! Building won't begin until tomorrow, but here is where I'll keep my updates :D

I started out with a big box and cut off the flaps. I used those to make a second level and a ramp by slitting holes in the side of the box and sliding them through

To make the ramp easier to climb, I slit holes in it and alternated pushing the pieces in and out (sorry for the picture quality)

I hot glued some sturdy cardboard tubing to the bottom of a smaller box, then connected it to the second level of the bigger box using cardboard tubing.

I added some bedding to the small box for digging, and put various houses and toys in the bigger one. I'm planning on making a trip to Petco later to get a flying saucer and other toys :)

It's not finished yet though... I still have two other long boxes I plan on making rooms out of

That is absolutely fab. Adore the platform idea with the little flaps. Lucky ham :) Bet s/he never wants to leave it.

This is AMAZING! You are so creative. I have a plain box I use and put one or two toys in, but they always just spend most of the time in there trying to dig their way out of the box in a corner. Now I can see where I'm going wrong, you're an inspiration :)
