I'm in the process of making some home-made toys for the fluffs.
The first one was a bit experimental but I think it turned out well. Finley seems to like it. :D
I made him a hanging toy from driftwood, seashells and dried bamboo leaves. I got the idea from some parrot toys I had seen in the shop, so I thought I'm make my own, rather crude version. :3

It's quite basic, but I'm going to make some bigger, better ones. This was sort of a practice. :D
I basically scrubbed and baked some hard driftwood, washed down some smooth, hard shells like cockles, plus a cute snail shell which was leftover from some bits I was decorating Todd's sandpit with.
I snapped the wood into small pieces and rubbed down the rough bits. Thankfully, because it's driftwood it doesn't really splinter into sharp bits. It snapped pretty clean.
It took me a while to put the holes in the wood, as I manually turned a screw into it, somehow without splitting the stick. For the shells, I tapped holes by creating a dent with needle and small hammer, and then tapping in a hole with the screw I used for the sticks.
Then I folded the bamboo leaves so they zigzag, feathered them and the put in a hole in the tips and threaded them onto the string.
In the next, better one, I might add some sort of skewer so hang bits of fruit and nuts and stuff on. :)
I'm also going to make some rope bridges and hang them with little bits and bobs. :)
