Hey Forum! =; ,

I have a new project on my plate! as you probably can tell by the title I want to build a Natural Hamster Habitat! :x

I absolutely love the look of them and I think my hamsters will like them too!

My Plan:

I wish to some day turn a billy bookcase into 5 hamster cages but at the moment I've spent $66 on bin cages :-k so until I can either sell them or find other uses for them, I'm just going to continue using the bin cages!

I wish to put 1-2 large pieces of wood in the cage and decorate it with moss.
I want to plant some cress seeds or any hamster friendly plants
I also want to add a sand area where the wheel will also be located
I want to use rocks/stones near the water bowl kind of a "waterfall" theme/feature
I'm going to also buy Megazorb I think it's a nice cozy natural looking bedding
and finally for food will be scatter fed

Questions:

Okay! So I want to add some plants like grassy ones such as cress, grass etc If someone would be willing to either find me seeds or plants on ebay and/or tell me some hamster friendly greens I would be so grateful! O:)

We are cutting down tree's in our garden atm! Can I use wood from outside same going with stones/rocks? :-s

Do you have any ideas to help the hamster's mental stimulation?

and lastly if anyone has any links or pictures that you think could be helpful for my little project It would be appreciated if you could post them plus any products you find on ebay :D (Cheap is always good haha :p )

Thank You!!!

Pictures!!!! :DD

So, I did the cages one by one! So set up this small carry cage with food, water, tissue and some bedding :) (tip don't fill the bottle too high to prevent tipping and injury)

I don't mean to sound harsh but the first one is too small and your using a bird water holder. The wheels in the cages dont look like they are secure to anything?

They all look abit small to me, what are the measurements? There are some good ideas but more work needs doing on them i think.

Yeah but it doesn't look attached so would be knocked over pretty quick. Unless it is but i can't see how?

I'd say smallish set ups :( I know you put lots of thought and work into it but should've gone for bigger bins.
