You may or may not know that we adopted an elderly hamster last June, and tonight he has peacefully passed away in his sleep. We didn't know his exact age but i was told he was between 3 or 4 when we got him and was nearly blind and couldn't walk properly, but I think we gave him a happy retirement as he lasted this long.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss leedsgurl. It's a shame we did not get the chance to meet Buffy. He had a wonderful life with you and he slipped away peacefully in his own wee bed. Play happily at the bridge little man
RIP Buffy.

Thank you everyone for your kind words, I am sad that Buffy has gone, but at the same time I'm happy that we gave him a good life, as I don't think he was looked after very well before we got him (kids who lost interest I think).
Thanks again everyone x
