I haven't been able to find a hamster climbing wall in the US, so...I made my own! I still have to add some hooks & a backing to the ladder, but I am excited to let Smudge try it out.

I started out with a bird ladder that I had, but hadn't used yet. I cut it and a 1/2" x 3" piece of wood to 7 3/4in.

I glued them together and measured & drilles the holes. While the glue was drying, I cut these pegs to the correct length.

Then I glued/tapped them in using a hammer...and wala...

It was pretty easy to be honest :-). I got the wood at Home Depot (which they wouldn't cut for me because it was under 12in), but I had to cut it myself. That's why it's not a straight cut at the bottom. And I bought the pegs at Michael's Crafts. Now...wether or not she'll use it remains to be seen ;-). Lol

That's brilliant! I think the same ones in the UK are about £7-£10. Maybe I could make my own, you have inspired me! :D

Thanks j.j. :-). I hope she's doing good (as well as your students) :-)

This ended up being more of a slide for my little dwarf, Smudge, but my Syrian, Darwin is quite a champ on it! So...it belongs to him! :-). Looks great in his bin too:-)

Whoaaa! Kiki, that's really excellent! Very well thought out. This is easy to make too. I have electric tools so the cutting and drilling would take no time at all. Also, when you make it yourself, it can be as wide as you want it. I envision one going from floor to a shelf in Patches' cage. I love it! :-D

PS. I love that little table shelf you've got there.. Oh the ideas..:-D

Wow the climbing wall looks really great! Looks very professionally done! After trying to glue mini dowels on a platform and getting totally impatient, I have a lot of respect for crafty people like you. :D

P.S. glad the package made it to you safely. :)
