Adding a poll at a later date?

Me and petal10 are running a small book club in the Misc chat section. We want to be able to add a poll to the existing thread this Thursday. Like Souffle does on the Hamster Photo Contest? I don't think this can be done normally. Is there any way we could be granted with the privileges to do just that, or any way around the issue? Thank you :)

You can either start a new thread with the details and add the poll as you make it or send me the details and I can add it for you. You won't be able to do it on that thread though as too long has passed since it was started.
