View Full Version : Plastikote
What is an equivalent of plastikote sold in the US, preferably something that is not so expensive?

You can find Plastikote in the US through auto shops or on some online store, but it is a bit pricey. Any non-toxic acrylic or polymer sealer will do, Krylon acrylic sealer or Mod Podge are popular and usually available at your local craft/art supply stores. I personally use TriCoPolymer Wood Sealer (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-203322571/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=non+toxic+sealer&storeId=10051#.UP8sXycs6Gc) as I have mostly wooden toys and furniture and go through sealers very fast. It is VOC free and non-toxic so I really liked it.

If it's just to seal wood and you're not bothered about colours you can also just dilute Elmer's glue with water and brush that on.
