Last March I was shopping for some food for my hamsters in a local pet store. Of course, I went to see hammies they have in stock because they did allow costumers to play with them and handle them. But what I saw was shocking. There was a glass tank with entire hamster family inside; mum, dad and three pups that were about 2 weeks old. All pups were pearls (or at least I thought so) and I was extremely happy to se a pearl in pet shop. So I decided to get one. First I picked up one boy, but then noticed a smaller, fourth pup underneath. She was in kind of weird position and was squiking alot. When I looked better I noticed she was bleeding from her genital area and her ears were kind of torn. "If I am getting any hamster; it must be her, otherwise her littermates will kill her" I said. Lady that worked there didn't want to sell her to me because she is "damaged stuff". I was so angry. In the end I finally talked lady into selling me this hamster. FiFi was a hard one to tame and still is traumatized alot (well, her family did try to kill her), but she is just wonderful hamster.

When I first got her, she was even lighter, almost snow white.

What a fragile little lady she is and well done for getting her away from the situation she was in. :) What age is Fifi now? She still looks quite young.
