Hi, do you only want pictures of suitable hamster cages? I use Imac Fantasy and Ferplast cages. Not everyone likes/has these cages but I find them very spacious for my hamsters, as well as easy to access to get them out and play with them.

IMAC Fantasy

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a124/maknowey12/imac-fantasy.jpg Costs about £21-27 plus £12 for extra levels

FERPLAST Rainbow - my favourite but retails for up to £60 - check out eBay for second hand cages

FERPAST (tubeline) Laura

Hope this helps you a little

Here is our cage type. It's a Gabber cage and is really roomy and easy to get the hamsters in and out of. I have seen them sometimes on eBay for £22.99. Do you have a birthday coming up? Maybe you could ask for one for your birthday?

We have had a few discussions on cages in the past and another you may want to check out is this one (http://www.candacebell.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15). I always say get the biggest you possibly can and if it means saving for another 4 weeks do it Ferplast are my current manufacturer of choice - I use the Rainbow cages too although they are only £35 pounds here and Gabber Duna Tanks for my Roborovski but they cost nearly double that price pophammy  Wierd how prices are so different across the UK - I love Ferplast Rainbows and would probably pay £60 if I had to but glad I don't Emma (i_love_paddy) :? They are getting rarer and rarer though sadly, and taking longer to get on order, so I have been trying out more from the Tubeline ranges Laura and Paula etc. with various add-ons and the Syrians seem to really like the tubes - they are nice and generous in diameter and ventilated too, plus they split in half for easy washing. This cage from Ferplast has the same dimensions as a Rainbow but you can add tubes to the metal top section which is even better. I removed the inner shelf/level which is solid with a solid lader and covers one half of the base level with the top of the base. This way you can hopefully see the proportions of inside better. The base is really deep so no litter gets kicked out and 3 Winter Whites Russian Dwarf Hamsters live here happily - with their two wheels of course because they always want to run at the same time and two only fit in together  At the other end of the external tube system I have removed the second shelf/level - yes it comes with two :P normally connected by a bridge - and have a puzzle playgroud instead which they have hours of fun fooling around on.

yeh, I didn't pay £60 for the Rainbow cages though luckily - I brought my two on eBay - one was £16 (I collected it) and the other was £23, although the Rainbow bridge bit was broken

Ferplast will replace it normally and great price - they are brilliant - I would have them all in Rainbows if I could find enough of them, especially with the addition of tube-line add-on holes. I would like them to be slightly wider so I can fit a Rody Savic on the side and still have both levels in though - just now I can only have one level in each cage due to amount of stuff I try to put in them  Or even just slightly higher so the wheel fits in accessible from the level - the smaller comfort wheels that come with them barely fit in the gap and are okay with a dwarf running on them but the weight of a Syrian makes them scrape the floor  Ferplast are designed with Winter White Russian Dwarf Hamsters in mind though I believe as this was/is the most popular hamster species in Italy or so I have been told.

For cheaper Raibows by mail order try here (http://www.gpsdirect.biz/ProductDetails~productID~3713~categoryid~.aspx). If you live in an HP, OX, LU or MK postcode area (approx 25 mile radius of Aylesbury) orders of £12 or more are delivered free of charge using our own vehicles. For the rest of mainland UK (except the Scottish Highlands & Islands) there is a flat rate charge of £3.99 for orders up to 20kg in weight.

Hello, This is Our Mischiefs cage, it is a 3.5-4ft long, 1.5ft wide, about 2ft tall christmas tree bin with holes drilled in the dies and 1/2" x 1/2" wire mesh covering them, and holes cut in the top with 1/2" x 1/2" mesh over it.

That is a great size especially when as you say you see it in comparison to the casge inside her enclosure which many people keep their Syrians in. Those Timber Hide-A-Ways are really popular - I think I will need to get one they look lovely and roomy - some of the wooden toys out there are more dwarf sized than Syrian.

Babyboos, we have just ordered another Gabber cage like our ones for when we get Nelson a wife! It is called a Gabber Rex and is 25.99 at our local small pet shop. Quite a bargain when you think how roomy it is. With regard to the wooden hideaways we buy wooden nesting boxes for birds and remove the wooden slat end for when we have babies. They are warm and spacious for the mums and are only two pounds or so so you can afford a new one each litter, especially if you only have one litter every two years! Hopefully ours will be this year and I already have lots of homes lined up! :P Can't wait :!: :!: :!:

Oh I have seen those - a little smaller than the Lux but I couldn't understand the water bottle seemed a bit like a bird feeder. They are nearly £40 in our local petshop

Yes the water bottle can be tricky but we have adapted by drilling two holes in the side. One lower (for babies) and the higher one for big hams . You can fit a sippy quite well in the hole it comes with, I would not use a bird type as they are on the higher level and babies would not get up there.

Bird type drinking feder will also get easily contaminatied - do they not try to escape through the gap which is left from not using the water feeder? Do you use it for bird seed instead?

Sadly not Sippy's biggest fan myself  far prefer good old fashioned "Classic" twin ball bearing hamster bottles. Have quite a number of Sippy's left over from Ferplast cages I have bought over last few years - they seem to have moved away from using them themselves anymore as on my last two putchses I got grey ball bearing type water bottles instead - nice holders for attaching to the side of barred cages too I thought. Sippy were great for the multifuntionality in terms of which enclosure you could use them with, but so fiddly to get on and off without breaking the seal.

I think you are confusing our cage type. There is no space for a bird type water bottle in the Gabber cages but I have seen them on another type of cage. The hams could not escape through the hole as it is only the diameter of a water bottle spout so it is ideal as the bottle is outside and only the spout pokes through. There are two smaller holes to attach the bottle holding wire to. I do agree about sippy's mind you. We have been looking after a friends ham who came with a sippy and is going home with a classic as it kept draining all over the table! We use the classics now
