The build quality of this cage is very good for the price, the base is quite deep and pretty solid, and the overall size is excellent for a Syrian. The bars are quite strong and are coated, which means if your hamster is a bar chewer it won't leave any visible marks. The six clips hold the whole cage together very securely, and the 2 large doors are great for easy access and wide enough to reach anywhere in the cage. The platform is sturdy, but the hole for the hamster is too small for a large Syrian. There is plenty of room to fit an 11" wheel and plenty of toys.

This cage is pretty easy and straight forward to build, But make sure you have pliers at hand to help tighten the clips. My cage had a biggish gap on the front door, this was easy solved by tucking the corner of it behind these little 'half moon' clips next to the door, and it has made it very secure.

I would definitely recommend this cage, Well worth the money!

Yeah I have the alaska and its pretty amazing and for an amazing price, my hammy seems to love it, but one of the six clips that came with mine were faulty so it keeps popping of but the rest are pretty good.

Ps for a second I thought that was my cage because I have quite a few of the same accessories haha silly me :)

It does look a good cage. It's just a shame the price seems to be going up :( still cheaper than a lot on the market though for that size! :)

I've been thinking about buying this cage too. It looks really good value for the size but I opted for the Barney in the end. If anyone's is interested its currently up for half price on ebay but it may be damaged in some way, since its a company that resell pet shop returns.

Hi September - what do you think of the Barney? Is it spacious enough? Can you fit a 'flying saucer' wheel in there or not really? (are they important? Just seen a lot of people with them)

I have a barney with a 12" flying saucer. It does take up a lot of space so I bought a corner shelf off ecf which fits above it, so the space isnt wasted. I did have to use cable ties to secure the shelf though

Hi Samantha, Not sure about the flying saucer. I use a wonderland wheel for our syrians but don't know about dwarves. I do like the Barney cage. Its very sturdy. The cage part seems to take a bit of a squeeze to put into the base though. Don't know if this is just mine. There are some Barney reviews I found useful on here.

Your cage is looking great neily. I like the little glimpse of a near-camoflaged fuzzball in there! x
