I am very sad to say that my little girl has passed on the 31st of December :( I had just come back from my vacation and had time for a couple of long days of work when I noticed that Leela was poorly compared to her usual poorly itchy self. There was blood all over her food dish, and upon inspection, it appeared she had pyometra :( That was on the 30th--a Sunday, of course... as it usually goes with my ill hamsters =/ I had some Baytril so she got a dose, as well as a good cleaning, tasty treats, and a cuddly blanket. Unfortunately, she continued deteriorating rapidly, and on the 31st, I had to cancel an emergency vet visit and admit to myself that she was not going to get any better, and shaking her in a car was going to be traumatic. She was so very weak and bleeding a lot, and we spent most of the day checking up and holding her, giving her water, trying to offer treats (and Metacam).
I can't believe she's gone... I was just going to take her to a vet for her mite issue, since it wasn't getting fixed with topical Ivermectin, but then this happened so quickly :( Only a week and a half until her 2nd birthday.
The last good photo of my girlie, just before I went on my trip :( I think she looks sad here already... maybe she already started feeling ill then, I wish I had known :( :( :(

Rest in peace, dear fluffball. You were such a good foster mommy to Viola and Olive, and a sweet little girl, in love with her wheels. I'm sorry living with Dora and Viola didn't work out, but at least you had calmed down and settled to live on your own quite well finally in your last few months. May the bridge bring you lots of treats, wheels, and robo friends to snuggle with.
