What fantastic babies! wonderful coats and markings. I just can't get over how pretty they all look.

Well done Orna and Mysteron - you've done yourselves proud with this super brood :x

Wow, they're absolutely fantastic - the coats look so rich!

And as for their personalities... a few shots, and I think we can all tell they're darlings; I love how fascinated they are with your hands! :D

I said one ear was bound to be the best :P Since I know there was an ear when he was born, and that it was nibbled off by an over-zealous Orna if he does turn out good at least I can breed from him!

I'm very proud of Orna, she's been a wonderful mother. Mysteron is a bit more of a hands-off Dad, but he does let his boy babies clean him, sniff him, get in his way, jump into the wheel and push him out, pile up on top of him and sleep on him, so I suppose that does make him a good daddy :P

Gust0o, my favourite thing about WWs is how they're like "baby birds", poke a hand in and they all run over and stand up, like birds begging for food from their Mums. Orna has been the most demanding hamster i've had, Mysteron was uninterested at first, but now he's the same (silly me thinking he'd be good company for Orna and make her a bit less people obsessed!)...and as you can see the baby boys take after Mum in a big way :D

that's true, you can always breed from one-ear. i hadn't thought of that.

Max and Paddy sit up and gaze into the air if i enter the room and even speak. even if i aren't next to the cage. they beg at the sound of my voice... "oooh, the vending machine is here!"

I think mine have just become cynical!

They stand up, stare, come and see... then realise I'm not bringing food, and go back to what they were doing! :D

However, if I am bringing food... ;)

Clever WWs!

They are stunning IN - how long have you been breeding dwarves? My Tupac and Biggie are pet shop hamsters, but Biggie accredited himself with a 78 at his first showing - though the breeder animals were absolute darlings, totally different temperaments (any Campbells in you Biggie?!!)

Been trying to breed dwarfs for 18 months...first breeding pair never produced, but meany OH wouldn't let me get another pair just in case! Once my oldies got old (i've got 5 who are either over or pushing 24 months) I was allowed again.

they are wonderful, typical that the boys have the better colour, still they usually tend to be the best left in something other than pairs and well... they are cute!

i had the awww i want one argument with dave, he said all baby ww are cute, which is quite hard to argue against....ah well

great to see pictures of them, they are so cute and i am so happy you finally got the ww litter you wanted, the voice of the mysterons is obviously what was needed;)

Their coats look so glossy

Yeah, they're soooo soft, its hard not to give them all the attention they demand when they're so strokeable :D

The boys remind me a lot of Bunsey's Paddy, who's an extraordinary little chap :)

Bunsey
04-29-2008, 01:27 PM
why do you have to try not to give them attention? i pick max and paddy up every time they ask... is that wrong

i didn't realise you were keeping them all but mine! i feel very honoured now! :D

They're in the bedroom, the other hams are in the hamster room. If I picked them up every time they asked i'd never leave the house (and the other hams would never get attention!)...as soon as they go back they want out again :P As soon as you walk into the room a little face pops out in one of the tanks - they must be the lightest sleepers!

eta The sexes worked out that i'd be able to keep them all, since there's 3 girls one stays with Orna, one goes off to live with Bunsey, 3 boys to live with Mysteron and if there are fights I can split into two pairs, so everyone has the chance of a friend :D

are you going to bring both ladies to Lymm for one to choose Paddy (i won't be as silly as to think it's Paddy who gets the choice ). i hope at least one of them will take to him! there's still a chance that both will fight with him i guess :?

Hopefully since Mum and Dad were so easy to introduce and seem pretty laid back to other hamsters it'll pass on to the babies and they'll love Paddy!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone, I think they're beautiful, round and shiny but I am a little biased ;)

brill. they look pretty similar in showability, which is good as then it won't matter which one i have :)
Paddy will pretty much have either i think. he seems to like the ladies. He was very keen on that bourne valley one he sniffed at!

Yeah they are pretty identical, I can't tell them or the two two eared boys apart yet, so no one has names. There normally seems to be one girl in the nest with Orna and another one sleeping wherever she wants, but I don't know if its the same baby :P Baby One Ear is probably going to be called Uri 2 (after a one eared roborovski I had)...Although I can really see Baby One Ear sticking into adult life. Poor little Ruby is still Babykin and she's 13 months old now.

ooh i forgot you had a Ruby, too. My WW lady is going to be called Orchid btw... Orna's kid.... Or-kid... geddit? :P
