I am new here and have been reading all sorts of the threads to learn things for when my wife and I buy our daughter her hamster. I am thinking that making its toys will not only be fun but a way that my daughter and I can spend time together as she likes helping me build things. One of my questions is what kind of paint can you use to paint the items that you make or could you use food coloring as a stain for the items. I plan on the popsicle toys and using wooden dows as well for other items. Also what type of wooden dowels would be ok to use rather what type of wood to use as to not hurt the hamster. Any info would be greatly appriciated.
