View Full Version : Bobbi (Syrian), Hampshire

Vectis Hamstery
10-08-2012, 09:08 AM
Location: Hampshire
Kind of hamster: Short haired banded female Syrian
Hamster age: Unknown, estimated around 6 months
Reason they were abandoned? Bobbi was found walking in an alley by a policeman who put her in his stab vest pocket and took her to the police station on his bicycle. This is how she acquired her name!
Any health problems/special needs? Bobbi was in a sorry state on arrival: dehydrated, underweight, cold and suffering from a respiratory infection, bowel obstruction and pyometra.
Bobbi was treated for the chest infection then spayed and the bowel that was attached to the infected womb was freed. Her bowel is working fine now and her chest was clear at her recent vet check up. She will be in foster care until she puts on the weight.
Any behavioral problems? Bobbi is good-natured and easy to pick up despite her eventful life. She is still being assessed in foster care, but has revealed no behavioural problems so far. She's not a fan of free-range time in open spaces, understandably given her history.

Type of household hamster would best be suited to: Any

Bobbi has gone to her new home where she will be spoiled. A wonderful new beginning to Bobbi's story.
