Sleep Tight Cookie

I shall for once write quite a bit for a memorial as some members will not know his story.

I first met Cookie when he came to stay with me last August for 4 weeks. He was my 5 year old nephews (husband's side) hamster. I had heard stories about how he was being treat from John, when he went to visit his cousins.
So the night came for us to pick him up. He was one terrified little fella he was in a filthy cage & had never been let out since they bought him. I couldn't wait to get him to our house.

Fast forward 4 weeks & I didn't want to give him back as I had grown really attached, 5 weeks went by then 6, then suddenly October was almost here & they hadn't been back for Cookie so thanks to all the support from members on here I offered to keep him! YAY success!

It took a long time to tame Cookie but it was so worth it. I am going to miss him so much he was so special. Such a scruffy little fella. I'm heartbroken but so happy too that he ended his life in a home full of love & fun.

I have hundreds of photos of him so it's hard to pick favourites as they all are!

Cookie... I knew he'd had a wonderful time with you and was already sorry he'd gone, but that memorial really hit it home. He was a great ham, incredibly lucky to have his everlasting holiday with you, and I bet he knew it. I'm really, really sorry his time has come, but he knew love and true happiness for his year with you, and I bet every day of it seemed like heaven to him.

Such a lucky guy to have found you after his hard start in life, you gave him all he could have ever wanted and much much more :)
His bedhead looks never failed to amuse me, he was handsome in a scruffy sort of way.

I know I wrote on the other places but just saw this today again. I miss you, little guy. With all your scruffy bits. Hamchan's back end has got really fluffy and full of megazorb and I always tut at him and say, ah, just like Cookie now.
