I haven't posted for a while but I thought I'd let you all know that Treacle has gone over the rainbow bridge (age approx 1 yr 9 months).
She was a lovely girl with a quirky nature only ever doing things on her terms. She would beg to get out of her cage then make you wait until she was absolutely ready before she would come out, once out in her play box she loved to explore everything inside, sometimes you could put your hand in and she would climb on, other times she would just bite you. When she was ready to go back in her cage, she would stand on her hind legs and watch you, if you didn't notice her doing this, she would give a loud squeak. She had a ball but we stopped putting her in it, using it just frustrated her because she couldn't go where she wanted so she would just spend her time trying to get out of it. If you were on the phone, which was right beside her cage but not used very often, she'd come out her bed to see who you were talking to. We all loved her very much and know we will never have another hamster quite like her.
Rest in Peace Treacle, you'll always have a special place in our hearts.
