My mum says she's very sorry for misleading anybody - SHE didn't get any new hamsters from the sales table at Thame - but I did!

Meet The Doctor and Captain Jack:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o209/Holly_Day/IMG_6813.jpg

They are both 5 and half weeks old and though I've got them living together at the moment they aren't from the same litter - they were born 2 days apart. Doctor is a Towy-Vale Cream and Jack is a Bourne Valley Sable but we think it's a good idea to keep them together for a couple of weeks as they are so young. They are both related to mackeson which my mum says is good!

I'm hoping to enter them both in Junior and Young stock at brockholes - my mum has tried to steal them both but she's not having them :P

They seem to have settled in very well together Will!

Just so you know why being descended from Mackeson is good .....this is Mackeson.

Wow - they are a lovely pair Will - and Mum is dead right - Mackeson is a beauty from the picture I saw! 8)

don't let your Mum steal them away, will you? (Mind you I might just pinch them both at Brockholes - keep a close eye on them)

Ooo Will, they are really lovely boys, you must be very happy with them! Great names too. I can see why being related to Mackeson is a good thing. 8)

Good luck with them Will, I'm sure they will win lots of prizes for you.

*Blush*
Why thank you souffle :P

I had to keep quiet as I promised Will I'd let him introduce them himself and he's had to wait a few days to register. It was hard and sorry if I misled anyone, I just didn't want to spoil it for Will.

He's a good lad really and he's devoted to all the hamsters - it's just that all our others have been shown under my name so he couldn't really start entering them in Junior and stuff under his name. I promised him a while back if he remained as keen and as happy to look after all the hams that I'd let him have a prefix of his own and keep a few hamsters himself - now he's got the Who Hams

Mackeson is a stunner - Will just went "Whoa!!!" when he saw that piccie :D

Congratulations on the new hamsters - so glad they have finally been introduced.

I have to say that I loved and played with these two frequently on Sunday at Thame and mum was very keen to have Doctor, so I'm so glad they came to you - they are adorable and will make a fine start to Who Hams!

Holly

At first he was just having one - he chose the Doctor and I preferred Jack. In the end we went back for Jack - I knew I didn't want any new hams myself with the litters coming but Will convinced me that he could look after two at this stage. I have to say, getting them at just 5 weeks, I'd much rather have two and run them on together as I saw how well our two Carapaw boys did staying together.

These two seem inseparable - wonder how long that will last!

Huge congratulations on two really adorable little hamsters :D
Let's hope they grow up to be just as handsome as the rather stunning Mackeson.

Aww they are so gorgeous. They seem to like being together.
Only once did we have 2 syrians that lived together and they brothers we thought we would have to separate them but it never happened and they loved each other and snuggled up together, they died at 2 years old and died 3 days apart. The vets were fine with it and said if they are happy then thats fine. It is a rarity to get 2 syrians living together.

This should not be done I know I just wanted to share it with you.

Sarah x

I definitely wouldn't let Will risk that - well he wouldn't anyway. These pair will be separated before they need to be - if they haven't started showing signs of irritation with each other by Brockholes, that's when we'll separate - they'll be 10 weeks then so they mght not make it that far, but boys do last longer together in my experience.

What is it that they are eating in all those pics?

Holly
04-02-2008, 11:56 AM
Rice pudding! It's good for making little babies grow up big and chunky

Bunsey
04-02-2008, 01:16 PM
do you make your own rice pudding or can lazy people buy it?

do you have to use warm milk in any of the baby foods because i throw up at the smell of it

Spuds Mum
04-02-2008, 01:32 PM
I use the heinz tinned baby rice pudding Bunsey! I make mine sometimes, but to be honest, the cans are just so much easier - open and pour into a bowl! :D

Bunsey
04-02-2008, 01:38 PM
oh good, no heating up any milk! :D

Holly
04-02-2008, 02:16 PM
I've got a confession to make, Bunsey - that's Ambrosia creamed rice pudding no less - I wanted to give my old boys, my mums-to-be and Will's baby Who Hams a treat! (I ended up giving a bit to everybody but it's probably not a great idea as a regular thing  )
