Little Mifty

Unfortunately this morning we put down our little hamster after a tear in her abdominal wall. It's a shame but we know it was for the best to let her move on peacefully and stop any discomfort and pain.

This morning we had one last little play with her, which was nice, and she seemed a lot more active and vibrant than she had done recently which was a nice treat for us. Definitely blessed with her little scampers this morning, and she even gave a few friendly little nips and nudges to say goodbye.

We've not had her very long; she was nearing 5 months old, but the time we've had has been brilliant and we've absolutely loved playing with and looking after her. She's been a wonderful blessing and I'm thankful for the time we've had.

It's truly tragic when they have to be PTS so young. I also lost one a few weeks ago that was the same age as yours.

But, like you say, it's best to be thankful for the short time we have with them and at least we know now they're not suffering anymore.

We've just burried her and said our final goodbyes. Thank you all, for all the comments, it's been very nice to read your words and very comforting for both us and Mifty. I'm sure she was reading attentively too! x

I'm very sorry for your loss. But if it needed to happen it needed to happen. I know its hard but it was for the best. She should be a lot happier over the bridge. Play hard little one...

They're very little creatures but they make such a huge impact in our lives.

Thank you all for the comments. Over the last few days it made it easier to accept what happened and accepting our decision, and also helped us think to the future and what we want to do in meory of Mifty. Thank you all!
