I thought i would introduce my special (not so little) lady.

Mishka was 22 weeks old when we got her, we drove all the way down to Birmingham to collect her.
she had lots of problems including lack of house training, food aggression, and dog aggression

we are her 4th, and final home

she was 1 year old on the 13th of may, and these are a collection of random pictures in no particular order

and no she is NOT a husky lol

She's beautiful! She was 5 months when she came to you, her 4th home? Poor big baby girl. I tell my boys, there's no such thing as a bad dog, but lots of bad owners :-( I can see she's with good owners now!

wow, she's gorgeous and does look like a husky. I had a Lhasa Apso called Mishka when I was a kid, he was already named by the previous owner, I never heard that name before. Your photos are fantastic and he certainly looks as though he's settled in.

she is gorgeous and after reading she isn't a husky im curious as to what breed she is?

As i was thinking her tail looks akita like so i was thinking she is either an akita or elkhound or a wee mixed breed?

And some people think getting a dog is a piece of cake and don't realise the training can be hard but they give up.

She is an Alaskan Malamute, bigger stronger, chunkier much thicker set, and more work then a husky, they are known for dog aggression.

huskies also dont really come in her colouration

huskys are actually quite small dogs, bitches weighing in at 20 KG dogs weighing in at 25 KG

she is already 28 KG and still has another year of growing to do, mals are very slow maturing dogs

and akitas are HUGEand much broarder with stubbier noses and shorter fur

when i got her she was called flame

She's beautiful! I love Mals, there's one that goes past my flat a couple of times each day, although he's chunkier and his furs a bit longer than your Miska's.

shes still only a pup, still has a lot of chunking out to do still, but she looks nothing like a husky

She looks like a husky to me :p And nothing like the Mals I've ever seen :p But like you say, she's still a pup and needs to fill out (and grow into those paws!) :D

trust me, in person she looks NOTHING like a husky, as a pup she looked like an older husky, she has papers to say she is a mal too ;)

she looks like what she is, a young mal, and everyone familiar with the breeds says to that effect
and there are a LOT of sibes in this area, one family up the road has 18 of the little monsters!! (they race them)

there are 2 strains of mals, the giant strain and the normal strain, she is just a normal mal

I was just comparing her to the ones I've seen thats all :) I've only seen adults in person (adult Mals I mean...).

she is a really cool colour for a malmute as over here i have only ever seen the black ones and now you have mentioned it there does appear to be a great difference in there height and shes a tall dog

sorry i didnt guess right as i am only really familiar to boxers, Springer Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel, Labs, Pomerianans and staffordshire bull terriers

What a fabulous girl, its brilliant to see her in such a good home.
We had a big girl at the bluecross centre (could have been a husky, but she looked more like your girl) and she did have a big problem with agression towards the other dogs. Which was such a shame as you could sit with her on her own and she was so cuddly and sweet. Thankfully she did find an experienced home, it really fustrates me when people take on dogs they just cannot handle x

Ahh she's gorgeous, very happy she's in your hands now :)
Infurtiating when big dogs get passed around like baggage, just because their old owners can't cope :/ We ended up with mac (gsd) for similar reasons, he came to us as a thug of a dog but is lovely now :)
