my arty thread *opinions really appriciated*

well as some of you guys may have realised, i am MASSIVELY into drawing and i am really working on improving my technique and developing my style.

so i thought it would be easier (and less annoying for you guys *blush*) if i just had one thread that i could keep updating with new stuff that i would love your opinions on :)

i really don't mind any contructive critisism, it is the only way for me to learn.

soooo to start the ball rolling i did this portrait today.

i really worked on blending the colours and not having the tones of the face looking so patchy.
i HATE drawing clothes with a passion so did my usual 'cheat' and incorporated markers (this will be something i want to improve on)

:) the one of cory (finn) is the one i am most proud of as i managed to get what i envisaged in my head to manifest on the page :) the others all have bits that i want to change the more i study them *blush* but thats all part of the learning curve i guess.

that led to me wanting to draw something related and i chose james lafferty (nathan scott) as my subject.

just a ~WIP~ at the moment but i plan to finish this tomorrow evening :)

thanks everyone :) i plan on drawing jamie scott (who in my opinion is the cutest fictional kid charecter on tv!!) at some point this week. think im going to use graphite pencils for that one though :)

sooooooooo an evening without drawing doesn't really happen in my world lol!!!

this evening i have spent time laying down the basic lines for 2 new drawings. this is the part i find the most tedious! i stress over it way too much and could rip my hair out and points but once i am relatively happy with them, then the real fun can begin. the shading... i love love love LOVE that part :)

both this drawing i intend to do with graphite pencils. so i am stepping away from my trusty colours (momentarily!) and seeing the world in shades of grey. whether this will be a success is yet to be seen as i haven't done a serious graphite drawing in years but both this drawings cried out to be in grey :)

so first up is a sneak peak of jamie scott (OTH again!)

and then i finished off the basic lines for this johnny depp drawing that i have started and re-started more than i care to admit *blush*

the key is to draw a little larger than you intend as i basicly erase these lines as i go along each area of the drawing :)

and there you have it... the next 2 projects i have to keep me busy :) xxx

i have a port folio, so they basically go in an a3 folder :) i work on some pieces to have around the home but yeah, that's where they go xxx

well after seeing WICKED last night at the victoria appollo, i was so overwhelmed and inspired by the set designs... acting.... singing... EVERYTHING...

i just had to do something art related :)

my only 2 provisos was that it be vivid and quick to do. i wanted this to be nothing but fun :)

so for elphaba i used pastels and for galenda i used pencils :)

here is the finished outcome:

took 4 hours in total and the pastels were a dream/nightmare all in one as the black smudged everywhere. i felt like a kid again all covered in black lol

well here is my attempt to draw somene different for a change (yeah yeah, i know Darren Criss plays Blaine BUT i am standing by the fact that i have drawn Blaine NOT Darren... lol!)

those hands were a nightmare and i am still not completely happy with them. they are 'fuzzed' out due to the focus of the shot being on his face... but how the heck do you create that affect?? o_O

anyhoo, on the whole i am not depressed with the outcome
