Baby food is one of the best things they can have. I feed a jar over 2 nights a week to all of them :) Make sure the ones you get don't have onion in or spices.

I feed about 2 teaspoons to a syrian and one teaspoon to a dwarf :)

I feed baby food to syrians too. Mainly as a treat once in a while and also for when I am disguising medication

Mine really love the porridge, rice pudding and pasta ones. I feed them a couple of times a week.

Yep, mine seem to like it too and it is really good for them.
They have one pot a week between them (spread over two nights like Leanne). I would really recommend it.

Mine love it too, and it is great for young and growing hamsters, as well as useful for your 'older generation' too! :D

Mine have been having the cow and gate and heinz ones, and they seem to enjoy them. I'm sure that other makes would also be ok though, these are just the ones that I have tried.

Mine get whichever brand is on offer at the time I buy it.....

The Heinz tins seem to be a nice size though, so I often get those.

Are they okay then even though they have sugar in? If so I'll get some, they can have the meat and veg ones can they?

The amount a hammy eats does not give them much sugar Catya. Avoid the onion and citrus fruit ones but the rest are fine. A special favourite of ours is the heinz spagetti hoops and sausage  Babies look very cute holding a teeny hoop

I'm pretty sure that you just have to avoid onions and spicy things, although I have only ever given the savoury ones so am not positive. Maybe it would be best to just restrict the amount of sugary ones they consume?

we give about one teaspoon per hammie a week. We put it in at night and remove the dish in the morning with any uneaten. They get porridge one night a week and tofu or chicken or something one night and fruit/veg too. Don't give it too often though.

Well I got the hienz chicken and vegtable caserole for him, I picked one up and fogot to check the ingredients and it had onion in it so i swapped it for one that didnt. Doesnt smell too good but my ham seems to love it. How long does this stuff keep for?

Scoop it out the tin into a plastic dish and seal it over with clingfilm. You can keep it in the fridge for about 3 days. You can also freeze it in little one portion bags or ice cube trays and just defrost one when you like which saves wasting any uneaten.

I give the food from a baby spoon - there are actually no children in our house so my mates think I'm quite strange buying baby food and spoons. We keep the jar in the fridge and when the freezer isn't jammed full, use the ice cube tray as Souffle says.

Hi all when my Female Christie during and for about a week after she gave birth we gave her Cow & Gate creamed porridge she loved it.

I have used baby food for most of my small animals in the past have used fruit ones, vegetable ones and porridge.

Especially when they are unwell and won't eat anything else baby food comes in handy.
