On the 15th November, 2 days before my birthday, in 2010 I went to the pet shop with the intention of getting 2 little campbells (not really knowing much about it). The staff in the shop said the cage I had wouldn't be suitable for dwarves as the bar spacing was too big. So I decided to look at the syrians.
We saw lots of different colours, but my OH saw this "little ginger one" that was just crawling all over the place and who came see us when we opened the door. We said "That one please!" and when the staff took her out she could NOT get her to sit still - she was climbing up her top, all over her arms, and not wanting to stay in one place. "Are you sure you want this one??" asked the staff member, expecting us to change our mind. "Yes, yes I do." I replied.
Little did I know that not even the biggest cage would be suitable for this, then, little syrian - particularly not my Fantasia.

I felt Sen was finally happy in her Zoozone 2.

With such enormous energy and a love of the camera, she became a princess in the hamster world.

I have thousands of paparazzi photos that I can keep forever. And I love that I can type into google images "Sen hamster" and get lots of pictures of her - all thanks to this place.
Sen was a houdini, she loved to climb and squeeze - and escaped 3 times from her old cage. But she never wanted to run away, just explore. Because after a little while, all it took was my calling her name (and a rustle of her treat box) and she came toddling out to greet me. I imagine she had a big smile on her face at these times.
Sen developed many friends through HC, whether she was aware of it or not. She was such a poser, that we took many photos and put them together to create many happy memories.
She worked in tandem with the Doctor:

And she committed a terrible crime, but her now-fiancé Peanut and best friend Pickle came to help her. This turned into a whole criminal affair, with a court, judges, lawyers and everything! It turned out there was a mysterious underbelly to HC, and Sen had actually been FRAMED! Dun, dun, dun!

Once HC had decided that Sen should be free, she set out to find a man to protect her from all of the evil in the hamster world. Whilst there were many suitors, I think it was in her fate that she would end up with Peanut. They were engaged to be married when sadness came upon HC and we lost Peanut to the bridge. Not long after that, she lost her best friend Pickle too.
I am glad she is with them again now. She was such an amazing character, and the words I've received from so many people about their sadness at her passing shows me that she touched not just my heart but theirs as well, and I'm so happy that others got to share in how special she was.
She helped me through my Masters Degree (providing much needed comfort and distraction). Unfortunately she was separated from me for a few months when I moved to another town and left her in the care of my OH. Luckily, for the past 3 and a half months she was with me and although I was busy with my qualification, I was glad to have someone to come home to when my OH was still separated from me.
She got to spend her last few days with me, and I got to say goodbye. I made sure that she was always comfortable, and never wanting for anything. She has left huge pawprints on my heart, and I will ALWAYS remember her. My little mischief maker.

I lit a candle for her last night, and tonight she will be buried amongst some trees at my brother's house. Which I'm sure she'll love, because they'd be the ultimate climbing challenge for her. I am burying her with the little straw doll I gave her when I moved so she wouldn't be alone, and the wooden lizard that Peanut sent to her for her birthday so that they can play with it together at the bridge.
There are lots of videos of her on my youtube if you want to see them:gizmoreturns - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/gizmoreturns)
And plenty of pictures on HC (http://www.hamstercentral.com/community/search.php?do=finduser&u=11150&starteronly=1).
The only thing I can think of, right now, is the song from Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0lJV4vOkAQ) (even though it's really mocking his non-death):
"[HC, I've] something to tell you,
a story of our time.
A tragic but inspiring tale
of [a hamster] in its prime.
You know you had a dozen [hams]
Well now that's not quite true.
But feel no sorrow, do not grieve
[She] would not want you to.
There's one more angel in heaven.
There's one more star in the sky.
Senpop we'll never forget you,
It's tough but we're gonna get by.
There's one less place [on my] table.
There's one more tear in my eye.
But Senny the things that you stood for
Like truth and light never die."
I apologise that this is so long, and I know that many of you have already said your condolences. I just wanted to document Sen's life in a single thread, for those who never knew her and for a trip down memory lane for those who did. In the other thread about her decline (http://www.hamstercentral.com/community/hamster-healthcare/27215-i-fear-i-may-losing-my-senpop.html) I enjoyed reading what everyone's favourite memories about her were, so I thought I'd post mine here.
