THIS COMPETITION IS FOR A PICTURE of Hamsters at their happiest and/or smiling. The theme this month has been chosen by Michelle89 :smile:

The theme is for a picture of 'Hamsters at their happiest and/or smiling'.

Please do not post any comments about the picture. Please post only the hamster's name. Comments will be removed.

It's a new month so we have to choose the 'Hamster of the Month' for next month. The winning hamster will appear on the front page of the forum so when someone comes on to the forum they will see the picture.
PLEASE TRY AND RESIZE PHOTOS AS SOME ARE HUGE AND ARE STRETCHING THE FORUM. 600 pixels wide is a good standard size for the forum.

1. This competition is for the May Hamster of the month. We would like a picture this month of hamsters at their happiest and/or smiling.

2. You may enter 1 picture.

3. The picture should be clear and as charming as possible

4. The picture must be of a hamster of any species and it must belong to you or your family. It may be with you now or have passed to the bridge.

5. Closing date for entries is 23rd April at midnight GMT.

6. The voting will be posted and the new pic will be displayed in May. Each member will have two votes.

7. Please try and post a new photograph that you have not entered in a previous competition.

8. It must be pictures of hamsters at their happiest and/or smiling.

Please do not post any comments on this thread and only post entries. PM me with any queries. If you cannot post pics then e mail me the pic and I will post it on your behalf.

Pictures that are too large or too small will be resized.

I don't know what happened Gillzy but when I put the poll up this morning the photo of Sen was not showing. No matter what I did the picture would not show so I thought you had deleted it because of Sen's passing, maybe feeling it would be too painful to see, so I removed the post. I didn't want to upset you by asking about it. I feel terrible now because it was me but I would never just remove an entry without cause :(

That's okay souffle. As long as I'm not going mad thinking I did it and I didn't. I had deliberately entered her because of her passing, but it doesn't mean I can't just enter her next month. I'll enter a different picture perhaps, I have thousands of her so we'll see what the theme is. There's no way to change it I guess, because people will already have voted. Don't worry about it though. She'll be happy just knowing people thought of her. :)

Im sure everyone here knows I am not one for making a fuss but this thread really upset me last night.. I know mistakes happen and some cannot be fixed there and then but I am sure Sen could have been re-entered and the votes stopped and restarted.. people can always vote again once it's been reopened.. The mistake was caught fast with plenty of time to change and Im sorry to cause a fuss and poke my nose into something that doesnt concern me.. The picture was entered on the day Sen died as a tribute... If Gillzy enters it again next mnth as people suggest then I feel its lost its meaning to Gillzy.. she entered it this mnth for this very reason as a tribute..
I didnt say anything last night as I thought I would sleep on it but I know I would be deeply upset if it was my hamsters picture missed out on the day he died..

I'd just like to say that I'm really thankful for all of the kind words about Sen, but she would be the first person (hamster...) to say that there is no need to cause a fuss over her (actually that might be a lie, but I'd probably say it to keep her ego in check). So I think we're best just to drop the situation, it was a really unfortunate mistake to happen, and I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity to put her in to future HOTM - it's just a friendly game after all.

Although, having said that, Pompompoms has suggested to me that if Dasher should win she'd be happy to split the month with Sen. But that's totally up to everyone else (and Poms), mods included, and if you wanna delete this section mods feel free to.

I really don't want to upset people over this - it is entirely my fault as my post was the thing that broke. I thought that the picture was securely added, obviously there was something up with imageshak at the time. Moral of the story: use Imgur.com instead!
