When Cookie passed away in January I posted a few photos of her in her main memorial, however I never got around to posting a photo of the barrel Cookie was buried in.
When she passed there were no flowers in the barrel but a few random bulbs that had been tossed in weeks before without knowing what they would flower into. Because she didn't have any plants on her grave I put a little stick where I buried her and then put our Christmas 'tree' (the branch we decorated) in the barrel so that there was a least something there.
Today I went out to see her and I was overwhelmed by what I saw in the barrel. One of the random bulbs had grown and flowered in the hot weather we recently had, and it had flowered into beautiful yellow tulip.
If I had been asked to chose a flower for her I could never have done it, I could never have decided which flower could express her personality or the way I felt about her but this single yellow tulip was perfect, I couldn't ever tell you why but it just looked and felt perfect. It feels like the flower is Cookie herself showing just how beautiful she always was.
