Had my first photoshoot the other week, and gave me a much-needed confidence boost. Didn't want to hijack the member-photo thread with these, and also wanted to know if anyone else has tried modelling? Or any budding photographers ^.^ The photographer was a friend of a friend and was trying out a new camera and new editing techniques. Some of them came out quite blurry which is a shame.
I'm not sure if I'd want to get into modelling as after about 10 minutes I started to get bored and fidgety!! Does anyone have tips on keeping still? As I may be doing a paid shoot soon but don't know if I'd be able to  Also I don't have a very wide range of poses to do, and the photographer didn't instruct me what to do lol, so if anyone has any tips with that, would be great..
Was super easy albeit boring, so would be good for a bit of extra pocket money i guess.

And of course a few of the pics:

It does get boring!! ha I totally agree with that.

Have a look online on clothes shops for ideas on posing.
I thinkif yo udo the paid one it will be alot easier.

I got £170 for my shoot, I was used in a alternative catolouge.
It was great exp. and good fun as it was with different people.

Great pictures btw.

I'd never be a model, I have a face for radio as they say ;) I enjoy photography though, my portfolio is www.rache.co.uk (http://www.rache.co.uk)

I've never been a model but I have to work with them as part of my photography course :)
I'm studying in portraiture and general photography as a lead into fashion photography but it can be a lot of work sometimes.

I actually have to study a lot of the clothes catalogue girls so that I can see what the 'popular' angles, poses and lighting set ups are to incorporate into my own work but then at the same time have to make the ideas completely original. It can be difficult to stand out when it comes to both photography and modelling but if its something you really do love to do then it's all worth it in the end :)

The one thing to remember is if you are modelling something in particular (eg clothes or furniture) you have to use your body and poses to 'enhance' the object.
If you are being photographed just as a model then chose an emotion and focus on the facial expressions of it and your eyes as these are the point of focus in the majority of shots then try and match the positions of your arms, legs (and the way you curve your spine) to that expression. Don't be afraid to exaggeration in your movements, if the photographer doesn't tell you what s/he want they may be testing you to see how imaginative you can be without prompting. Photographers don't just want pretty models they want dynamic ones too so go 'wild' as it were
If you have your back to them (like in the first photo) you just need to do exactly what you have done there, use your arms, legs, the arching of your body to tell a story and make the person viewing the photo really think and wonder what was going through your mind and what you were trying to portray :)

If the photographer want something in particular they tend to tell you exactly what they want but again don't be afraid to improvise, if they don't like it they will tell you but if they do then you will make a great impression on them as someone who will make a great model :)

Your photos are very pretty though, I do like the first one with your hair being blow out and your arms reaching up and bent. It makes me think of frustration because of the way it looks like you are 'screaming at the heavens'. Really nice :)
