Hi all, I just wanted to post this to vent as well as warn you all about what sickos are lurking out there. One of the classrooms at the preschool my daughter goes to has a hamster cage in it. The teacher loves this hamster so much. Every weekend she puts the hamster in a closet and locks it up for its safety, because there are classes in there on the weekend. She must have forgotten this weekend. Some sicko found the hamster last weekend and took it out of its cage and put it in the microwave oven AND TURNED IT ON.!!! Then went #2 in its cage. The person who did this mind you. The teacher hadn't noticed it was missing until she went to warm something up and found it. This is a church where this happened. Thank goodness the police was called and they got a good print off of the microwave. I hope they FRY the person who did this!!!!! When I heard about this I almost got physically sick. Then I wanted to cry for the poor hamster. Who knows what its last moments were like. Bless its little heart. This just tears me up every time I think about it. I wanted to come home and love on Freddy. As much as you can with a hamster with out hurting it. I love Fred so much, This is an EVIL Sick person.

I will keep you posted if I find out any more information or if they catch the ... the....I can' come up with a word that won't get me banned from this board!!

Unfortunately this kind of thing happens all the time, Kids catching mice and lighting them on fire, they do all kinds of crewel things the wild animals. I remember a sea gull had its wing broken in elementary school from a boy who was chucking rocks at it and what not. I saw a show on animal planet where some kids broke into the backyard of a house and took a puppy from it down to a creek and lit it in fire...

I hope that whoever did this has charges pressed against them. I cant fathom the mind frames of these people, but its good they are caught and these day are prosecuted seriously because this behavior is usually early warning signs of someone likely to rape, murder ect

I learned in one of my psychology class that children who torture animals like that grow up to be psychopaths. (aka: Murders!)

Unfortunetly, the punishment the person who killed that hamster will recieve (if caught) probably won't be too harsh. He/she will probably only get charged with breaking and entering...and at best a big fine or a few months in prison.

A couple of years ago at the college I graduated from, a boy took one of our swans and chopped its head off! (The other swan died shortly after, probably of a broken heart) Because the swans were the college's property (and only because they were property) he got a huge fine and a year in prison.
