Here's two websites that have helped me understand the coat colour/type/pattern genetics of Syrians....just about, there's still a few questions unanswered!

The National Hamster Council site, under "Syrian" in the Hamsters section of the sidebar menu

The River Road Syrian genetics page - very good genetics tutorial if you've never studied genetics before too.

Eeek, had a look but I think I will need a quiet moment to concentrate on it. I fear my brain may melt otherwise

Yeah it isn't something you pick up overnight either - I still have to look things up and ask around - memory like a sieve though I am finding as I get older

These are all great sites and ones I refer to myself quite often. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can all help understand genetics better? Does any of our lovely membership feel like maybe writing a small article on an aspect of genetics for use here at Hamster Central. All levels of knowledge and expertise welcome. Remember the Contest (http://www.candacebell.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=437) currently running
